Nick Perdomo Jr Presents...Monday 26th September

The Perdomo reputation in the United States is one of great prestige; in a market with so many brands, Perdomo continues to place themselves amongst the favourite brands for Americans cigar enthusiasts. So, it is with immense pleasure we will be welcoming Nick Perdomo Jr, President, and CEO of Tabacalera Perdomo, to join us for an evening of cigars, whisky and great conversation in our sampling lounge. Nick Jr, a third generation cigarmaker following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, launched Perdomo Cigars in 1992. Joining him will be our friends from Tor Imports, Ricardo Carioni and Jerry Mir.

For this event we will be sampling a cigar with the same blend as Cigar Journal’s 2021 Cigar of the Year, Perdomo Reserve 10th Anniversary Maduro Super Toro. It is rolled completely with Nicaraguan tobacco from the dark oily wrapper to the Cuban-seed Nicaraguan grown leaves used for the filler and binder. As you would expect, the flavour has the expected character that comes with maduro cigars – full of sweet notes followed nicely by a hint of spice. The Super Toro has a substantial 60 ring gauge and is 6’’ in length, so it will be sure to last you through the duration of the sampling event.

We will be pairing the Cigars with a brand we think will pair perfectly with the Perdomo Reserve 10th Anniversary Maduro, Glenfarclas whisky. Their whiskey has a distinct profile that is apparent throughout their portfolio of expressions – there is a major sherry, spicy sweetness influence within their liquid. Very similar to maduro cigars, which also generally have a spicy sweetness to their flavour, the Glenfarclas doesn’t feel as full bodied as many Scottish whiskies. Instead, there is a real complexity to try and unravel through the woodiness, the fruits and alcohol content.

We will be joined by brand ambassador, Tim Webster, as he talks about the three expressions we will be pairing with the cigar. For the event we will be sampling the Glenfarclas 12 and 15 as well as their renowned Cask Strength (60%)
